The Zoo book
I am banging my head to the wall because I want to do a book about going to the zoo and maybe mixing fad and pop-up books will be interesting.
But I think all the illustration and design gods flew to Bali this vacations and they will return when snow has gone.
Meanwhile I am here trying to fix my head. Here are some pics of what I have been sketching. If you know a recipe for unblocking heads, just let me know. Yaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!

Alebrijes pop-up book
Here are a bunch of pictures of alebrijes, this mexican creatures are made of wood or papier mache.

During this summer vacations I started a book for a competition related to alebrijes so I had to slash the original illustrations to send then to Tokyo (yep it still hurts).
The book is in process but I got really frustrated because I didn’t used an illustration board as background and when you opened the illustrations the Mermaid paper was too weak to hold the mechanisms. No matter it happens I hope they have a good time there.

Pop-up books for adults/infography
Tokyo Eleven Paradise 出版
ISBN 4-88706-203-6
Japanese and English language. Printed in Singapore.
This book shows that Pop-up books can be also for adults because it talks about Tokyo architecture from the past century and with a clean and simple infography of Tokyo buildings (most of them have been demolished) it narrates the history of this forgoten city landscape. The reading flow of the book makes you turn it arround, pull strings, acordeons and flaps.
